Remember joss?

I remember at a point in Gili T I didnt have skin inside my mouth from having to many vodka joss shots.
What is joss you ask? Its Indonesian energy powder. Like redbull in powder. You take the powder into your mouth, do a vodka shot and shake your head.

Its Saturday.  We are cellebrating a friends birthday tonight. Lots joss up. ;-)

Lets go faster

A week ago I quit my job, 6 days ago I had a jobinterview, 4 days ago I got the job, today I got the ok to move into an apartment with 4 strangers, in 4 days I plan on being moved in and in 5 days I start my new job. My head is spinning. Ready steady go!

Happy stormy weekend Bergen! Fall is here. No doubt!

Just another manic Thursday

Today I visited a flat in Bergen with a room availeble. The flat itself is not impressing, but i liked the people there and it is really close to my new job. I start Wednesday btw.
I said I needed to think about it, so I will give my answer tomorrow. Are looking at another flat in the same area tomorrow, but my mind is pretty much set already. But there is really no harm in looking at one more before giving my answer.

It sucks to pay more for less compared to what I had when I rented a small flat through the hospital. Then I had my own everything, it was small, but it was mine. Now I will have to pay more to share, but then again this is in the middle of everything. 1 min to my job. Sweet.

When I was leaving to look at the apartment today I realized that i dont have any waterproof shoes. In Bergen it rains A LOT, and today was bad. I ended up borrowing my mums raincoat and her rainboots, 2 numbers too big. Had to focus a lot to look "normal" as I was passing through Bergen. No tripping, and no loughing(except my mum before I left). Good day. :-)

Have to get ready. Nightshift at the nursinghome tonight.

Random pic I found on Google. Soo cute!

Lost in my backyard

WARNING: this is just an excuse to publish way to many Norwegian nature pics. I dont blame you if you dont care

Last week the weather was amazing. It was summer. How I wish I could say the same about this week. Classic Norwegian, always complaining about the weather. It's to hot, cold, wet, dry. I'm not even sure what we would have to talk about if we couldn't complain about the weather? Maybe we all would have to read up on politics and world peace?
Good thing about the weather, you only have to look out the window to be up to date and everyone is interested. One of the perks of living in a city with suck a variety of weather. :P

Anyways. Last weekend i decided to go hiking in the woods by myself. I planned on going through the woods and up Veten(mountin).
It was a really beautifull day.
The hike started out fine untill i took a wrong turn somewhere.
Deartrail, trail what is the differense?
I definently didn't end up where I planned, but hey... Who cares, I'll just take a different path to Veten i thought. So i kept walking, and smiling.
Then I found a road I hadn't walked before. I'm sure it will lead me to the same place as the main road, i though. I really dont know why I still think I can find my way. I have NO sence of direction, what so ever. I think that I can always find the ocean(it's not true).

At some point to road just stopped. If i imagined that it was a path going on or if i just climbed on, I'm just not sure. I hate turning back, so often I just keep walking telling myself I will end up the same place as long as I keep walking where my gutt is telling me to go(it is always wrong).
The other side is where I was suppose to end up to go up Veten.
Time to climb...at some point I realized that I was   running out of time and it was time to find the way back home. Witch it somewhere to the left.
Pretty. Dont eat them!
I found the way back to where I lost my way in the first place, then I lost my path again, luckily it was a Sunday so I could hear people talking and navigated after the snu and talk. It wasn't funny anymore so I stopped taking pictures. I walked through   bushes(brake) about my hight. Wiggled between trees. Walked through swamp. When I finaly found back to where I usualy hike i lied down on a rock, soooo happy the hike was almost over. Then i realized i had about 20 tiny ticks(flått) crawling on me. My happy moment was definently over! After 5 minits picking them of(luckily only one had attached itself to me), I trew my socks(cowered, so if you find 2 white tennis socks under a rock my Børnesvatnet you know who they betong to) away and ran home. I left most of the clothes outside, freaked out just thinking about bringing ticks in. Yuck!

Next day(after working a nightshift in the nursinghome) I was relaxing outside in the sun when I thought. Hmmm, I'm bored. Lets stopp taking selfies and hike up Veten for real this time.
Half way up I saw a sign to Randifjellet(mountain). I have never been there, so lets go I thought.
It was a really nice hike, even if i really wished they i had waterproof shoes. And also, many times I though I had lost the path and had turn back to make sure I hadn't overlooked any markes.

I wasn't to impressed with the Randifjell(mountain) view, so I went up Veten afterwards. Wasn't to far.
Instead of about an hour hike, I returned to the car 3 hours later.

When I got home we had a barbique. Great day!
Pork, corn, rice, salad, tomatoes, peppersauce, beer. Awesome
Basil tomatoes

2 days ago me and my cosin decided to go to Haganesfjellet(mountain). We had never been there. After a little while we lost the path. I was not happy. Moping and ready to tell my cosin I was walking home(15 min drive), but he could go on if he wanted. Luckily i sucked it up, and when we finaly found the right path and came to the top it was so worth it! About 236 meters above sea level, but felt highter. Definently hiking here again.
Later that day we celebrated how fit we had been by eating brownies and ice cream untill the edge of vomit. No pictures taken, all proof eaten ;-)

Change

18 September 2014 11 pm

Today is the day i quit my job. Crazy? Maybe! The right thing to do? Definently! Sure I loved my job working in dialysis in Bergen, but I love freedom more.

So what next? I'm not sure. No kids, no man, no job. It feels kind of awesome. I have the whole world ahead of me, I can go anywhere, do anything(well almost, pretty sure the famous ballerina ship has sailed :p).

Most people I tell about my urge to keep travelling tell me to follow my dreams, but also a few think I am out of my mind for doing this. Wired wrong you might say. Well wired wrong or not, I feel alive and I have more happy days than bad ones. So even if it's not the way most people choose to live, it feels like the right path for me.

Tomorrow I have a interview. So who knows... Bergen... Maybe I'll stick around for a while.

19 September 11 am.

The rain is pouring down. So far September has been summer, but today mother nature is catching up on lost raintime. It is back to normal, but I dont have to like it. A week ago I jumped in the ocean 3 times on purpose, and earlier this week we had a barbique.
Now fall is catching up. :/

23:44 pm
About the job interview... I'll call you monday he said. I think I got it, but u can never be sure before the contract is signed. If I get it, I know I will like it there. Got a feeling. Fingers crossed!

23/09 4 pm

I got it! The job that is. I am really excited. Start in October, so it's close. Are looking for places to live in the centre of Bergen now. When the ball starts rowling, it tends to rowl fast. Just the way I like it.
